Basketball Recap: Sam Edwards' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Casady over Community Christian

Casady was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 57-44 to the Community Christian Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-32 back in December of 2024.

Casady's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Edwards, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points. James Elder was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Casady's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Community Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Coming up, Casady is taking a road trip to challenge Chisholm at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. As for Community Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-48 loss against Ardmore on the 15th.
