McFarland hasn't had much luck against Chavez recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, McFarland made easy work of Frazier Mountain and carried off a 12-1 win. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

McFarland let Cris Soto and Eddie Vasquez run wild. Soto went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Vasquez went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Soto a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Perez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.
McFarland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Chavez waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Stallions a 2-0 shutout.
Diego Villarreal made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Villarreal was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Villarreal wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Nathaniel Guerrero was another, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for McFarland, their win bumped their record up to 7-8-1.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McFarland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Chavez struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McFarland suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Chavez in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
