Football Recap: Davarious Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Holmes County Central over Louisville + How To Watch

The matchup between Holmes County Central and Louisville on Friday hardly resembled the 24-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Jaguars fell 53-45 to the Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (40), the Jaguars still had to take the loss.

Holmes County Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Davarious Johnson, who threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in three rushing scores. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Jartavious Smart helped Johnson out on the ground, rushing for 76 yards, while also picking up 70 receiving yards.

Louisville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayleb White, who rushed for 131 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Trey Tippett was another key rusher, rushing for 113 yards and a pair of scores.
