Basketball Recap: Hagerstown Falls Short of Centerville in the Playoffs

Hagerstown and Centerville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hagerstown had to settle for second. They fell to the Centerville Bulldogs 44-40. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Hagerstown's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Catey, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Catey a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Avery Blunk, who had ten points and seven boards.

Hagerstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Centerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season.
