Volleyball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity and St. Xavier squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Trinity had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Shamrocks in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: St. Xavier scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

St. Xavier was led to victory by Josh Walsh and Dalton Lutes. Walsh had 17 assists, while Lutes had eight digs and one assist. Walsh is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 17 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for St. Xavier, the victory (which was their 28th in a row) raised their record to 28-1.

As of now, neither Trinity nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
