Flag Football Game Preview: Florin Panthers vs. Fairfield Falcons

The Florin Panthers will face off against the Fairfield Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Florin nor Fairfield posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

On Wednesday, Florin slipped by Foothill 7-6. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

One reason for the win was Florin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jazira Arteaga-Khandilyan, Anaiyaliz Guzman, and Jayda Lewis, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Fairfield suffered their biggest defeat since August 28th on Saturday. They came up short against Clayton Valley Charter, falling 33-7.

Florin's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Florin was taken down by Fairfield 49-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
