Lafayette Christian Academy faced Evangel Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Knights skirted past the Eagles 24-22. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on five straight.

Braylon Walker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 89 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 148 yards and one touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lafayette Christian Academy's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Jayden Arceneaux with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

When it comes to explaining why Evangel Christian Academy lost, don't look at Peyton Houston. Despite the final result, he rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also threw for 183 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.3% of his passes. Houston's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Lafayette Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
