Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Rebels vs. Newberry Bulldogs
The Mid-Carolina Rebels won the last time they faced the Newberry Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Mid-Carolina secured a 44-38 W over the Bulldogs.
Mid-Carolina found their leader in underclassman BreA Boyd, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Callie Wilbanks was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Newberry saw an underclassman step up: Daizee Williams scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Grey, who scored seven points.
Mid-Carolina has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Newberry, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Abbeville the next time they take the court. Mid-Carolina will host the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
