Preview: Kentwood vs. Capitol

Capitol needs to shore up a defense that is allowing 35.09 points per matchup. They will take on Kentwood in each of the teams' third playoff game on Friday. The stakes are high as both teams are all in, each fighting to extend its postseason success.

The Lions earned some more postseason success in their contest last week. They got past Lakeside with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 38-34.

Meanwhile, everything went Kentwood's way against South Plaquemines as they made off with a 39-8 victory. Otis Elzy had a dynamite game for Kentwood; he picked up 125 yards on the ground on ten carries and accumulated 358 passing yards. That makes it six straight good games from Elzy. Elzy finished with three rushing touchdowns, the most he has had all season.

The Kangaroos' defense was a presence as well, and it made life painful for the quarterback and got past South Plaquemines' offensive line for a total of four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cornelius Ginn and Jermicheal Carter, who each racked up two sacks.

With both teams having displayed their playoff mettle, spectators can expect a high-quality game. Watch the contest and check back on MaxPreps.com for all the details.
