Basketball Recap: Jackson Day Comes Up Short

Jackson Day lost against Sugar Creek Charter back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jackson Day Mariners took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aidan Gatewood had an outrageously good game for Sugar Creek Charter as he went 5 for 12 en route to 21 points along with seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Elijah McCrey, who posted six points.

Jackson Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Sugar Creek Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Jackson Day is taking a road trip to challenge Garinger at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jackson Day is facing Garinger at the right time seeing as Garinger is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Sugar Creek Charter, they will host Piedmont Community Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Piedmont Community Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Sugar Creek Charter likes a good challenge.
