Dynamic duo of Logan James and Rylan Peacock lead First Academy to victory

Recap: First Academy Lions vs. St. Teresa's Catholic Crusaders

The First Academy Lions's eight-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They snuck past St. Teresa's Catholic with a 55-51 win. First Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

First Academy was led to victory by Logan James and Rylan Peacock. James dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Peacock scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peacock has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Warren Williams, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, St. Teresa's Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Sermario MJ Wiggins scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyland Rangel, who scored eight points.

First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-6. As for St. Teresa's Catholic, they bumped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

First Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Community Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Community Christian Academy is ranked 565th, while First Academy is ranked 582nd). As for St. Teresa's Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colquitt Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
