Reigning MaxPreps Male National Athlete of the Year Kendre Harrison transfers back to Reidsville, expected to be eligible immediately

Highly-regarded grid-hoops prospect returns to hometown after playing three games at Providence Day.

Multi-sport high school phenom Kendre Harrison is transferring back to Reidsville (N.C.) after a short stint at Providence Day (Charlotte, N.C.), according to multiple sources.

According to a report from HighSchoolOT, Harrison has returned to the school for classes Monday and will be at practice today. The five-star prospect is expected to become eligible immediately if all requirements are met because he is returning to his original school.

Harrison joins a Reidsville squad that is off to a hot start this season. The defending Class 2A state champions boast a 4-0 record with an average margin of victory just under 30 points per contest.

Regarded as the No. 9 prospect in the Class of 2026 in football according to 247Sports, the 6-foot-7 tight end prospect spent around six weeks at Providence Day after enrolling at the school in August. He played in three games for the Chargers this season before transferring back to his hometown team.

Harrison won MaxPreps Male Athlete of the Year honors in 2023-24 as a sophomore after leading Reidsville to state championships in football and basketball.



On the gridiron, Harrison hauled in 62 catches for 930 yards and 16 touchdowns as a tight end. He also added 76 tackles, nine sacks and eight pass deflections at defensive end to help the Rams to a 15-1 record and earn first team MaxPreps Sophomore All-America honors.

Harrison also was named to the second team MaxPreps Sophomore All-America team in basketball last season after averaging 19.4 points, 15.1 rebounds and 3.7 blocked shots per game. Harrison posted 25 double-doubles and helped Reidsville finish the season with a record of 29-0.

Regarded as the No. 47 prospect in the Class of 2026 in basketball according to 247Sports, the imposing paint presence will also be a welcome addition back into the fold for the basketball team. Reidsville (N.C.) is projected to begin the season ranked within the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 in early November.
