The Linganore Lancers will challenge the Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Urbana hit Linganore with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers came up short against the Hawks, falling 8-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Lancers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Governor Thomas Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-0 to Century.

Governor Thomas Johnson now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Linganore, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5.

Linganore took their win against Governor Thomas Johnson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
