Baseball Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Wonderful College Prep Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-12 to make it five. They fell just short of the Orosi Cardinals by a score of 3-2. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 17-14 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Julian Tafoya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Teagan Kent made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Mark Pimental was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As for Orosi, their record is now 9-11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Wonderful College Prep Academy since May 12, 2017.

On Orosi's side, the team relied heavily on Arturo Alvardo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Alvardo a new career-high.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Orosi beat Wonderful College Prep Academy by a score of 12-0 later that day.
