Basketball Recap: River View Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

River View won the last time they faced Liberty and Chasity Kennedy did her part to make sure it happened again. River View simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Liberty 68-30 for which the team can thank Kennedy, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of River View's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Stacey, who posted seven points and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of River View's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when she doesn't).

When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, don't look at Ava Yates. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points. The game was Yates' fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Rhiley Honaker, who earned eight points.

River View is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40 points. As for Liberty, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, River View and Liberty will both be playing Greater Beckley Christian the next time they take the court. Liberty will head out to face Greater Beckley Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, while River View will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
