Softball Recap: Macon County Comes Up Short

Clay County hit Macon County with a eight-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 14-0. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Macon County and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Clay County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Macon County will be playing in front of their home fans against DeKalb County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clay County, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on White County at 5:30 p.m. on the 30th.
