McDonald extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 4-4 in the process. They came out on top against the Springfield Tigers by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-2 on April 7th.

Aubrey Evans and Gianna Mancini made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Evans struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Mancini struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Evans has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Evans went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Mancini went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That triple was Evans' first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miley Titus, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Pecchia, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

On Springfield's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gina Romeo, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Looking ahead, McDonald will head out to square off against Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Springfield, they will welcome Poland Seminary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
