Baseball Recap: Hoke County Takes a Loss

Hoke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-2 to the Lee County Yellow Jackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 last Tuesday.

Jayden Hollingsworth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Hoke County's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lee County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Hoke County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Richmond on the 18th. As for Lee County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 loss against Pinecrest on the 25th.
