Valley Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 50-6 loss at the hands of the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flames of the 38-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

A big part of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Will Ryken and his top target Ben Bubar. Ryken gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns while Bubar rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Bubar also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending a pass. Brendan Maclean was in the mix as well, providing Scottsdale Preparatory Academy with a touchdown.

Valley Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
