Basketball Game Preview: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Honey Grove Warriors

The Tom Bean Tomcats will venture away from home to face off against the Honey Grove Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tom Bean took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Trenton by a score of 34-25. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tomcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tom Bean can attribute much of their success to Taylor Vick, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Vick a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Honey Grove came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 44-32 win over the Wolves.

Honey Grove is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Tom Bean, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

Tom Bean came up short against Honey Grove in their previous matchup on January 3rd, falling 36-25. Can Tom Bean avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
