Basketball Recap: Space Coast Falls Despite Big Games from Lashiya Walker and Phillayjah Carroll

Space Coast's tournament run continued when they took on Andrew Jackson on Saturday. The Space Coast Vipers came up short against the Andrew Jackson Tigers, falling 71-51.

Despite the defeat, Space Coast had strong showings from Phillayjah Carroll, who posted 22 points, and Lashiya Walker, who had 19 points. That was a full 43.1% of Space Coast's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kamiiah Jenkins, who posted six points.

Space Coast's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Andrew Jackson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Space Coast will welcome Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Carroll and Kennedie Sanders. As for Andrew Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Sandalwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
