Softball Game Preview: Owensboro Red Devils vs. Logan County Cougars

The Owensboro Red Devils will square off against the Logan County Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Owensboro has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 28.

Owensboro couldn't beat Breckinridge County on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Red Devils fell just short of the Fighting Tigers by a score of 9-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Logan County took on Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday. The Cougars lost 10-4 to the Wildcats.

Logan County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalie Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Owensboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Logan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Owensboro suffered a grim 16-7 defeat to Logan County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
