Baseball Recap: Mesquite Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mesquite couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Skeeters couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Copperas Cove, their victory bumped their record up to 13-15-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldawgs beat Mesquite by a score of 12-4 later that day.
