Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Prairie Ridge

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crystal Lake South, Prairie Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the McHenry Warriors by a score of 61-48. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Warriors are ranked 64th).

Prairie Ridge pushed their record up to 10-17 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for McHenry, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 13-1 and their overall record down to 21-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie Ridge will host Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for McHenry, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Antioch at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Antioch will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something McHenry surely won't give up without a fight.
