Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Jeannette's Winning Streak + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jeannette can now relate to. They fell 38-33 to the Clairton Bears on Friday. Despite 166 more yards than the Bears, the Jayhawks couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Jeannette still got an impressive performance from Kymone Brown, who rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 190 yards and three TDs. Brown also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making ten total tackles. Jeannette's leading receiver Jayce Powell was Brown's top target yet again, picking up 107 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Leading Clairton to victory were Deon Lovelace-Pompey and Brandon Murphy Jr. Lovelace-Pompey rushed for 84 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while Murphy Jr rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown.

Jeannette moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Clairton, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Jeannette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clairton, they will square off against Bishop Canevin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
