Basketball Game Preview: Ringgold Rams vs. Southmoreland Scotties

The Ringgold Rams will face off against the Southmoreland Scotties at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Ringgold: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Southmoreland has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.

Last Friday, Ringgold lost to South Fayette on the road by a 57-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Lions are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Southmoreland unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a 66-30 loss at the hands of Elizabeth Forward. The Scotties were red-hot offensively headed into the game (they scored no less than 55 points in the seven contests prior) but the Warriors' defense proved too tough.

Southmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Ringgold, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Ringgold couldn't quite finish off Southmoreland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 60-58. Can Ringgold avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
