Gulf Breeze entered their tilt with Broken Arrow on Thursday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Broken Arrow Tigers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Not much got past Tanner Owens, who gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Broken Arrow off the board. Furthermore, Owens didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Hooten, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Gulf Breeze pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Broken Arrow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Gulf Breeze and Broken Arrow should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. Gulf Breeze will square off against Fort Walton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Monday up 282 places (39 vs. 321). Similarly, Broken Arrow (ranked 36th) will meet Muskogee (ranked 166th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
