Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin barely beat Austintown-Fitch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 9-2 win on Friday. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Lucas Marlowe made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Marlowe was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other pitching news, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin got a great performance from Aiden McCord as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

Back at the plate, Cian O'Boyle was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie O'Dale, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Austintown-Fitch, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Elyria Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Austintown-Fitch, they will take on Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
