            Softball Recap: Geneseo Maple Leafs vs. Alleman Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
            Geneseo proved they can win big  on Tuesday (they won by 11) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Alleman Pioneers  5-3. The Maple Leafs haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive  win against them.
 Kendyl Wassenhove tossed a big game,   tossing five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   five  hits.

 On the hitting side,  Penny Kline was  excellent,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run. Those  two  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Remlee Dwyer, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
Geneseo's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Alleman, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with the  defeat, which was their eighth straight  at home.
 Looking ahead, Geneseo is taking a road trip to  take on Newark  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Maple Leafs are facing the Norsemen at the right time seeing as the Norsemen are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Alleman, they will take on Peoria Christian at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
