Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. T.C. Roberson Rams

The Charlotte Christian Knights will head out on the road to square off against the T.C. Roberson Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games Charlotte Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Charlotte Christian will head out to face T.C. Roberson after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Charlotte Christian fell just short of Oak Grove by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

Charlotte Christian got a good showing from Russ Berger, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Drew Darling made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Cohen Bettencourt also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, T.C. Roberson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over the Jets. The matchup marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.

T.C. Roberson's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Everything went Charlotte Christian's way against T.C. Roberson when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Charlotte Christian made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charlotte Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
