Preview: Hardin County Tigers vs. Marshall County Tigers

The Hardin County Tigers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Marshall County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Hardin County will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

With a playoff game on the line, Hardin County rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against White House by a score of 29-22.

Hardin County can attribute much of their success to Jacob Saunders, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns, and Carter Smith, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, Marshall County put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jackson North Side 52-18 at home. The win was just what Marshall County needed coming off of a 42-17 loss in their prior matchup.

Marshall County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of D.j. Gardner, who rushed for 23 yards and three touchdowns, and Silas Teat, who threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Jayden Randolph was in the mix too, providing Marshall County with two touchdowns.

Hardin County's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-2 Haywood and 8-2 Giles County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.8% over those games). As for Marshall County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Hardin County commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.4 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Marshall County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
