Basketball Recap: Sam Greene's Big Game Can't Quite Lead El Dorado over Rose Hill

El Dorado lost against Rose Hill back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The El Dorado Wildcats fell just short of the Rose Hill Rockets by a score of 53-50. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Greene, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Greene is becoming a predictor of El Dorado's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 2-1 (and 2-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Tanner Riddle, who posted eight points and three steals.

Even though they lost, El Dorado smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Rose Hill, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.

El Dorado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-39 loss against Wellington on the 27th. Rose Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
