Volleyball Recap: Pagosa Springs Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pagosa Springs had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-9 to make it nine. They came up short against the Centauri Falcons, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lexi Campbell paced Pagosa Springs' offense, picking up seven kills. Campbell got some help from Hayden Peterson and her ten assists.

As for Centauri, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Centauri found their leader in sophomore Aubree Ullery, who had eight digs and two aces. Macey McCarroll also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Pagosa Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Kirtland Central on the 23rd. After both having extra time off, Centauri and Bayfield will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
