Baseball Game Preview: Prairieville Hurricanes vs. Dutchtown Griffins

For the first time this season, Prairieville will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will look to defend their home field against the Dutchtown Griffins at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Prairieville proved they can win big back in February (they won by ten) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Ascension Episcopal 5-4.

Meanwhile, Dutchtown entered their tilt with Zachary on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Broncos, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Griffins have posted since April 13, 2024.

Dutchtown pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Prairieville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
