Basketball Game Preview: Whitewright Tigers vs. Celeste Blue Devils

The Whitewright Tigers will head out to take on the Celeste Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Whitewright took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They managed a 44-40 win over Wolfe City. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Celeste was able to grind out a solid victory over Trenton on Tuesday, taking the game 48-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 15-9. As for Whitewright, their record now sits at 11-7.

Whitewright lost to Celeste on the road by a decisive 44-26 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
