South lost against Independence back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans were dealt a 34-7 defeat at the hands of the Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Falcons since September 16, 2016.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Independence, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
