Recap: Elmwood Royals vs. Gibsonburg Golden Bears
The Elmwood Royals managed to keep up with the Gibsonburg Golden Bears until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Elmwood's rough 62-39 defeat to Gibsonburg might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elmwood has scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Camden Mooney, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Jake Hall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Elmwood's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Gibsonburg, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Elmwood will head out on the road to face off against Liberty-Benton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Gibsonburg, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Woodmore at 7:00 p.m.
