Basketball Game Preview: Knob Noster Panthers vs. Richmond Spartans

Knob Noster hasn't had much luck against Richmond recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knob Noster Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Richmond Spartans at 7:30 p.m.

Knob Noster is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Lafayette County, falling 82-22. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Richmond entered their tilt with Harrisonville on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-52 W against the Wildcats.

Richmond pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Knob Noster, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Knob Noster took a serious blow against Richmond when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 78-26. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Richmond's Gabriel Johnson, who went 13 of 15 on his way to 30 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
