Volleyball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Marion was the 2-0 winner over Graves County when they last played one another back in September of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Eagles on Saturday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marion may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 19 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Paislee Freebourn paced Marion's offense, picking up five kills. Freebourn got some help from Addisyn Lenon and her seven assists. Kaylin Wolfe controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Graves County, they now also have a winning record of 8-7.

Coincidentally, Marion and Graves County will both be playing Calloway County the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
