Baseball Recap: Wyomissing Starts off Right with Win over North Schuylkill

Wyomissing gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past North Schuylkill 6-5.

Ryan Graham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teddy White, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Sensenig, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Wyomissing was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Schuylkill only posted a batting average of .200.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wyomissing is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on Schuylkill Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Schuylkill, they will face off against Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
