Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Indians vs. Carver A&T Wildcats

Franklin has gone a perfect 3-0 against Carver A&T recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Dundalk hit Franklin with a 12-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Owls, falling 13-6. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacob Wise and Ryan Hartman did some serious damage despite the final result: Wise got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hartman got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Hartman has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Carver A&T entered their game against New Town on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats lost 13-1 to the Titans. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Carver A&T saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Carver A&T's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.
