Basketball Recap: Bradshaw Mountain's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Bradshaw Mountain lost against Flagstaff back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bradshaw Mountain Bears took a 57-38 bruising from the Flagstaff Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Eagles are ranked 42nd).

When it comes to explaining why Bradshaw Mountain lost, don't look at Kalli Smith. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points and five boards. Smith has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Allyson Downing was another key player, putting up four points.

Bradshaw Mountain's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7. As for Flagstaff, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradshaw Mountain will square off against Coconino at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flagstaff, they will challenge Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
