Basketball Game Preview: Overton Mustangs vs. Alto Yellowjackets

The Overton Mustangs will challenge the Alto Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Overton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Overton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Carlisle 87-32 on Friday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Overton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Hall led the charge by going 6 of 13 en route to 14 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Those seven steals gave Hall a new career-high. Joey Zalman was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven assists and four steals.

Overton was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Alto didn't have too much trouble with Cushing on Friday as they won 80-62.

Overton is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Alto, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Everything went Overton's way against Alto in their previous matchup on January 3rd, as Overton made off with a 52-32 victory. Will Overton repeat their success, or does Alto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
