Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Ritenour

Ritenour hadn't done well against Lafayette recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Ritenour Huskies secured a 43-39 W over the Lafayette Lancers. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Huskies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Lancers are ranked 97th).

Ritenour has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Lafayette, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Ritenour has already played their next contest (against Lindbergh), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lafayette, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pattonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pattonville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lafayette surely won't give up without a fight.
