Crestwood and Lower Richland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Crestwood Knights will take on the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Crestwood came up short against Woodmont and fell 44-34.

Despite their defeat, Crestwood saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Saniya Williams, who posted 15 points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Williams' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Vaughn, who had 14 points and four steals.
Even though they lost, Crestwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Lower Richland came tearing into Friday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over the Falcons. Given the Diamond Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Falcons are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lower Richland's win came from a few key players Crestwood will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chi?Nya Isaac, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points along with five assists and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Foster, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 13 points and four steals.
Lower Richland's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.9 points. As for Crestwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Crestwood has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lower Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Crestwood took a serious blow against Lower Richland in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 62-17. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lower Richland's Jhnai Sumter, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. Now that Crestwood knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
