Basketball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Neches Tigers, falling 67-13. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1390th, while the Tigers are ranked 268th).

Oakwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Neches, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Oakwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Neches, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-12 victory against Trinidad on the 4th.
