Baseball Recap: Stivers School for the Arts Tigers vs. Belmont Bison

Stivers School for the Arts extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They came up short against the Belmont Bison, falling 27-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2015.

For Belmont's part, Gavin Bradley made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bradley has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with ten stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Josh Lucas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Blankenship, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Coincidentally, Stivers School for the Arts and Belmont will both be playing Thurgood Marshall the next time they take the field. The Bison will head out to face the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
