Softball Game Preview: East Rowan Mustangs vs. North Stanly Comets

The East Rowan Mustangs will challenge the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Rowan took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Carson a 10-0 shutout. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Stanly). They blew past Gray Stone Day 18-3 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

North Stanly's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for East Rowan, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.

East Rowan came out on top in a nail-biter against North Stanly in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
