Softball Recap: James Lick Comes Up Short

James Lick lost against San Jose back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Comets lost 17-2 to the Bulldogs. Comets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Friday.

Jada Cruz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Perez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for James Lick and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for San Jose, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

James Lick will be playing in front of their home fans against Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Jose, they will square off against Mt. Pleasant at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.21 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
