Football Game Preview: Sundown Roughnecks vs. Seagraves Eagles

The Sundown Roughnecks will head out on the road to challenge the Seagraves Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seagraves took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sundown, who comes in off a win.

Sundown was handed a 46-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 16-15 win over Tahoka. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Seagraves took a blow against Ropes, falling 51-21. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for Seagraves, who until this contest were averaging 13.89 points allowed.

Sundown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games. As for Seagraves, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

Sundown was dealt a bruising 52-14 loss at the hands of Seagraves in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Roughnecks were down 35-6.
